Welcome to the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) website. Lincolnshire SCB is a statutory board which has been set up as part of the Children Act 2004, reforms, and requires all organisations that work with children to cooperate to keep children safe from harm.

The Lincolnshire SCB agrees how local services and professionals should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

At the heart of establishing the Lincolnshire SCB is the desire to provide useful information and a user friendly tool which will aid children, young people, their families and professionals to ensure safeguarding is everyone's business.

If you require further information about Lincolnshire SCB, or would like to give us your views or feedback on this website, please contact us.

What is meant by 'Safeguarding Children'?

Safeguarding is basically about keeping children and young people safe from 'Significant Harm' - also referred to as Abuse and/or Neglect.

Under the Children Act 2004, all those who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work, including people who do not have a direct role in relation to child protection, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Lincolnshire SCB also wishes to use this website as an avenue to inform parents and others, including general members of the public about keeping children safe, in our pledge to ensure that...Safeguarding Children in Lincolnshire is everyone's business.
