Serious Case Review Sub Group

Purpose

The purpose of this group is to:

commission Serious Case Reviews in accordance with the guidelines set out in Chapter 8 of Working Together to Safeguard Children
commission individual management reviews (IMRs) and draw up clear terms of reference for each SCR
ensure that the Overview Report, with recommendations for action is produced considering the wider issues of accountability and disclosure.
develop and coordinate a communications strategy to ensure that the lessons learnt from SCRs can be shared and made public
ensure that recommendations from Serious Case Reviews are implemented
commission IMRs for cases where there are single / joint agency concerns about arrangements for safeguarding children and make recommendations to LSCB
